Slides and sample apps for my WinUI talks

I've been back out on the speaking circuit over the last 18 months or so. Whether you've attended one of my sessions or not, you can always access all the slides and sample code on my speaking GitHub repo.

These are the session I've presented over that time:

  • Learn, Share, and Grow: How to Become a Microsoft Learn Contributor
  • Building a modern, native application for Windows: Which UI framework should you choose?
  • Get Started Building Windows Apps with WinUI and the Windows App SDK
  • Build intelligent apps with WinUI, Phi Silica and the Windows AI APIs

I've also got a .NET MAUI session coming up at VSLive! Orlando in November.

In my Microsoft Learn session, which I've given as both an hour-long session and a lightning talk, I give an overview of the docs pages on Learn, show you how anyone can contribute to the docs with issues, feedback & pull requests, and demonstrate how we create the docs on the Learn content teams.

In the UI Frameworks session, I compare the native UI options for .NET developers on Windows and show a sample app built with each of the platforms. I even show how you can migrate a simple WinUI app to Uno Platform with almost no code changes.

In my WinUI session, I show you how to get started with WinUI and the Windows App SDK and leverage resources like the Windows Community Toolkit to accelerate your development.

Finally, in my Windows AI session, I show you have to leverage the Windows AI APIs in the Windows App SDK in your WinUI and WPF apps. I also give an overview of Windows AI Foundry and other AI features in Windows 11 like Recall. I'll be presenting this session again at TechBash 2025 in early November and will have my sample apps updated for the latest Windows App SDK release.

I'll post a follow-up here after VSLive in November with the link to my .NET MAUI session resources.

I hope to see you soon at an event near you! Reach out if you'd like me to present virtually at your local user group.
